The latest range of high detail Scalextric models are absolutely beautifully made. The attention to detail and the build quality is better than ever. But I feel that beauty is often lost in the official product photography. Details that the Scalextric team have poured over for hours to ensure they’re just right become just a footnote in a standard 3/4 brochure snap.
So I’ve spent a little time experimenting with light and colour, taking pictures of the current (sorry Historic Racing fans!) Bentley Continental GT3 Team HTP car, to see if I can capture that detail in all its glory.
The model is of the Team HTP Bentley Continental GT3 car raced at the 24 hours of Spa,the premier endurance race for GT cars, that scored a strong result in what was just its second 24-hour race.
The #84 car driven by Harold Primat, Vincent Abril and Mike Parisy finished fifth in the Pro Class, claiming the best result of a Bentley in the 94 year history of the race.
Over the coming weeks, I’ll be taking more pictures of slot cars and posting them here, and I’d love to know what you think of them. So please do leave you thoughts in the comments below.
