The Jaguar D-Type is a legendary sports car that needs no introduction.
For round four of the 1957 World Sporstcar Championship, the 1000km of Nurburgring, a mind blowing 44 lap race around the 174 corners that made up the Nürburgring Nordschleife, Ecurie Ecosse ran three D-Types. The #11 car driven by Ninian Sanderson and Dick Steed, the #10 car driven by Ron Flockhart and Jack Fairman and the #9 car driven by Ivor Bueb and Jock Lawrence.
It’s the Bueb and Lawrence car that Scalextric has recreated in miniature with their C3730 Jaguar D-Type:
As much as I love the Ferrari 250 GTO, I genuinely think this is the most beautiful classic model Scalextric have produced in years.
The livery is exquisite and the detail both inside and out is superb.
From the driver to the steering wheel and dash. And from the venting on the bonnet, rear view mirror and leather bonnet straps. It’s a car you just can’t take your eyes off.
